Russia seeks to demand US diplomats for ‘steal’ backpacks

Moscow: Russia on Friday called the United States Embassy in Moscow to release diplomatic immunity from the three staff, said they were suspected of theft.
The announcement came in the midst of mensimering tensions between Moscow and the West and days after NATO took off eight members of the Russian mission to their accreditation alliance.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said it sent a note to the embassy with a request to “release diplomatic immunity from three US mission employees to sue them with criminal charges”.
It added that the three employees “stole Russian personal belongings”.
In his statement, the ministry said that if their request was rejected, the diplomats must be “immediately” leaving Russia.
Earlier on Friday, press service from the Ministry of Interior Moscow told Tass news agency that he received a complaint over the stolen backpack.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Vladimir Vasenin said that the servicemen of the US Marine Corps, aged 21 to 26 years, was arrested at CCTV footage.
He added that the incident produced damage worth 15,000 rubles ($ 200).
Criminal cases have been launched through theft, charges of carrying a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
A source told the Interfax news agency that the incident occurred at the Moscow bar on September 18 and US residents “drunk”.
