PUDUCHERRY: The Country Election Commission (SEC) has revised the local agency poll schedule after setting anomalies in ordering seats following the direction of Madras High Court and will hold a poll in three phases on November 2 on November 2, 7 and 13.
The provisions of 1,149 representatives were selected as five cities and 10 Panchayats Commune in 2006 ended in June 2011.
The poll, which was not held since then, was detained now following the direction of the Supreme Court in April this year.
Commissioner of the State Election Roy P Thomas said the Commission would hold a poll to two cities in the first phase on November 2; Five Panchayats communes in the second phase on November 7 and to three cities in the third phase on November 13.
Submission of nominations, which will begin on October 10 in the first phase, will be closed on October 18.
The Commission will examine the nomination of the paper on October 20.
The last date for the withdrawal of candidates is October 22.
Submission of nominations, which will begin on October 15 in the second phase, will be closed on October 22.
The Commission will examine nominated letters on October 25.
The last date for the withdrawal of candidates is October 27.
Nomination archiving, which will begin on October 22 in the third phase, will be closed on October 29.
Behavioral guidelines model come into force with the announcement of polls.
The Commission will announce the indirect election date for 133 posts including five cities of Vicechairmen, 10 chairman of the Pancayat Board of Commune, 10 Commune of the Pancayat Board Deputy Chair and 108 Villages Panchayat Vice President after the declaration of direct polls.
