Earlier this year, a large number of doctors who were professors and professors associates were transferred from the BJ Medical College to six universities in the state where MCI inspections were carried out for postgraduate courses.
“At the BJ Medical College, there is a possibility of decreasing seats in the PG program and the Anesthesia PG program.
A similar situation has been made in medical colleges in places such as Rajkot and Vadodara too,” said Source.
There are 1,874 PG medical seats in the state.
“Such transfers are routine.
After the inspection ends, the government sends the teachers to return to their original posts.

At present, there are six seats per unit per academic year.
A unit consisted of one professor, one assistant professor and professor associate.
While three seats were for professors, two for assistant professors and one chair marked for professor associates.
