Chennai: A dozen TN districts reported a new case increase over the past 24 hours, when the country reported a decline to 1,344 new cases on Saturday compared to 1,359 on Friday.
14 deaths took the calculation of cumulative death to 35,768 and the total case became 26.76 lakh.
In the end, 1,457 people were sent home, gone16,252 people still in care.
Three District – Chennai (164), Coimbatore (137) and Chengalpet (137) – continue to report cases in three digits – although the three have reported a decline on Friday.
The sharpest increase in reported cases from namakkal and nilgiris reported respectively 74 and 46 cases.
On Friday the two districts reported 59 and 31 cases.
While 27 districts reported less than 50 cases each, 20 of them had reported less than 20 cases each.
Among them VRIDHUNAGAR (8), Thirupathur (7), Ariyalur (3), Tenkasi (3) and Screenson (2) report cases in one digit.
Of the 14 deaths, Coimbatore reported three, Erode, Tiruvarur and Cuddalore reported each other and five others – Thanjavur, Trichy, Krishnagiri.
Dharmapuri and Vellore – each reported one death.
Twenty-nine districts reported zero death.
Of the 16,252 active cases, Chennai, Coimbatore and Chengalpet each have 1,839, 1,659 and 1,175 patients.
With only 30 active cases, Tenaskasi has the least number of people in care, followed by Ariyal (70) and a scrambling (78).
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the state was vaccinated by people who were vaccinated 88K took a dose of tally in the 4.7-crore state.
Tally dosage in a private hospital since May 1 touched 25.7 lakh.
