NEW DELHI: Following a continuing tussle between the Centre and West Bengal authorities, state chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay about Monday retired from the post and combined main minister Mamata Banerjee because her primary advisor.
Bandyopadhyay was initially set to retire Monday but had been awarded a three-month expansion.
In a press briefing, Mamata stated she’s named Bandyopadhyay because her main advisor for the subsequent few decades.
H K Dwivedi was appointed the new principal secretary of this country.
On the other hand, the central authorities resources warned of stern action against Bandyopadhyay and stated a chargesheet is going to be submitted against him.
The rejig comes from the background of a significant row between the Centre and state authorities that has been triggered by Mamata’s hurried look in a cyclone inspection meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Banerjee had a short meeting with the Prime Minister in the Kalaikunda airbase in which she handed over a memorandum about the post-cyclone circumstance and abandoned.
The central authorities and several BJP leaders detained Mamata of callousness and advised her cutting short the proposed inspection meeting.
Mamata, meanwhile, accused the Centre of revising the program for its first”PM-CM assembly”.
She listened to the existence of resistance leader Suvendu Adhikari in the assembly.
The Centre remembered the primary secretary after that afternoon.
Before now, Mamata wrote Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to draw Centre’s order remembering Bandyopadhyay.
She added that the administration”isn’t releasing” the best bureaucrat.
At an five-page letter, Banerjee encouraged the Prime Minister to rethink that the Centre’s decision to remember the main secretary after offering him a three-month expansion.
Banerjee said she had been amazed at the Centre’s conclusion and termed the arrangement because”unilateral”, that had been issued”with no previous appointment” with the state authorities.
“This so-called unilateral arrangement is a unreasoned volte face and on your entrance, contrary to the interests of this nation and its inhabitants.
“I humbly ask you to draw, remember, reevaluate your choice and rescind the most recent so dictate in larger public attention.
I appeal to your own conscience and decent sense, on the benefit of the people of West Bengal,” Banerjee said in her letter to PM Modi.
Throughout the media conference now, Mamata said that the Centre has responded to the letter, requesting the first secretary to unite with the North Block from the federal capital on Tuesday.
