Lucknow: Authority Development of Agricultural Food Products and Process (Apeda), a peak organization under the Minister of Trade and Industry, will send the delivery of the first banana from Uttar Pradesh to Iran through the sea route at Jawaharlal Nehru Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
Officials from the Apeda Regional Office said shipping will be sent by registered exporters M / S Desai Agro Foods at 12 noon from the Mango package house in the Lucknow district.
“This will be the first time the international market will taste bananas from above.
The fruit will be purchased directly from Pida Farmers, Lakimpur, and will be taken to Packhouse.
Two 40 feet containers will be sent to the Iranian market based on the trial,” said an official of the Apeda.
