Chennai: The number of new Covid-19 cases continues to fall in Tamil Nadu.
On Friday, the state added 1,245 new cases and 16 deaths on the Covid-19 registry.
In the end, 1,442 patients run out and there were 15,238 people who underwent treatment for viral infections.
Chennai, with a positive Test (TPR) rate of 0.8 percent, once again topped the state infection graph with 167 new cases.
Coimbatore with TPR which is slightly higher 1.4% remains the second most affected district with 139 infected in the last 24 hours.
TPR overall TN remained unchanged at 0.9% over the past week.
As far as vaccination, there has been a gradual decline in the number of people inoculated this week.
Of the 1.3 lakh during the beginning of the week, down to 54,573 on Friday.
The Minister of Health MA Subramanian connects the drop to the celebration season and announced that there would be no mass vaccination camp on this Sunday.
The country, through five consecutive mass camps on Sunday managed to record more than 1.1 crore people.
“Special plans are being designed to organize the sixth camp as people, who will take their second dose, will be prioritized.
We believe that at least 20 lakh people like that will be vaccinated through the camp,” Subramanian said.
