VALPOI: Mamlatdar from Sattari and Administrator Shri Ravalnath Prasna Devasna, Dashrath Gawas, on Friday decided to lock the temple after a dispute broke out between two groups during the Dussehra celebration in places.
This temple is located in Velus Village in the city of Valpoi.
The temple locking process is underway until night.
There are three Mahajan families affiliated with temples – Gaonkar, Madvol and Gura.
According to the Gaonkar group, the three families have the right to do rituals at the temple.
However, they claimed that members of the GuraV group tried to control the temple and did not allow Gaonkar and Madvols to participate in a large religious ceremony.
On Friday, breaking the annual tradition gathered in the temple at 3pm for Dussehra, members of the GuraV group came at 1pm that themselves and started a celebration.
This turned into controversy after verbal spat erupted between Gaurav and the Gaonkar group.
It didn’t work to try to calm the two groups and finally decided to lock the temple to avoid unwanted incidents.
The police were also deployed at the temple.

Mamlatdar said that all members of the community have the right to do rituals and convince to see this problem.
