Coimbatore: The Kattoor police have formed a special team to arrest two people, who tried to kill a homeless man by dropping a large stone on his head when he slept in front of a shop on Jalan Ansari in Ram Nagar on Friday night.
Police were injured as Rajan, 50, from Sundarapuram.
He had separated from his family a decade ago and worked as a turner in the lathe workshop.
He used to sleep in front of a shop in Ansari Street Three, who found Rajan in a blood collection at around 12:30 a.m.
on Saturday, notifying 108 ambulance services and warned the police.
Personal requests revealed that two homeless people, who used to sleep in front of the store, had attacked Rajan, said a police officer.
“We try to track the Rajan family.
His condition is very important,” he said.
