New Delhi: For the first time, Maruti’s car is expected to come out of the Toyota factory in India because two Japanese car makers provide a final touch to the new Premium SUV – Competitors of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and VW Taigun – Strengthening their current relationship can be extended to the vehicle Green, including hybrids and electricity.
The top sources told TII that the new SUV had worked for more than a year and would be a collaborative effort of the development of the product, design, engineering and the Toyota source team and the parent Maruti Suzuki.
R & D and a component source team in Maruti also play an important role in the development of vehicles that are likely to hit the Indian market in the second half of next year.
Collaboration between the two companies tended to be aggressive, especially after the Indian government announced the incentive scheme (pli) RS 26,000 Crore (PLI) which only focused on electricity and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
“While the company’s original plan is to see strong hybrids and other electrified versions (running on batteries and gasoline), now thoughts are focused around the pure layer of electricity and even fuel cells.
This is a preliminary discussion, and no one has resolved .
However, it can be said with certainty that it is a mutual future, “said one source.
Talking about Premium SUVs, the source said that investment for vehicles that have been developed on the basis – estimated to be more than RS 1,000 Crore.
“This is an ambitious product, and maybe the first collaborative vehicle developed by the two companies.”
