Mumbai: With the Head of BMC Iqbal Chahal called for a meeting of high-ranking officials to discuss the city food truck policy, BJP had asked him to seize food trucks that ran in the city that had been distributed by BMC.
In a letter to Chahal, BJP Corporator Vinod Mishra said that 30 trucks had run in byculla and distributed by Shiv Sena Corporators.
“Thirty trucks have been distributed in byculla and other regions by local corporators.
With a lack of policy, this food truck is distributed by BMC using taxpayers running illegally,” Mishra said in his letter.
The letter also went to say that there was ambiguity whether the policy was for food trucks or van van.
“Unless the NOC is taken from Mumbai police, Traffic Police and Maharashtra FDA, distribution and running this food truck will be illegal,” Mishra wrote.
While Sena Shiv was filled with BMC porridge to stop the distribution of food trucks as Freebies by Corporators ahead of the BMC elections next year, Chahal called for a meeting to discuss and formulate food truck policies on Wednesday.
