Gurugram: Entrepreneurs based in Delhi are suspected of deceiving Rs 1.5 crore by brokers about the pretext of investing on the building floor.
Hansh Raj (69), a large Western Punjabi resident, contacted Gurbani Kaur and Jasmet Singh, resident DLF-2 in January 2018.
Gurbani and Jasmeet introduced himself as a builder and told Hansh Raj that they were building a 250-page building a pages of the plot Qutub Enclave on DLF-4.
Gurbani and Jasmeet showed him a building under construction and offered him an agreement to order a floor for RS 1.75 Crore and make a payment with installments.
Induced by the offer, Raj ordered the floor in the building in March 2018.
“They assured us to register the floor on our behalf after completing construction,” said Raj, added that he paid a number of reservations of Rs 39 Lakh.
As of December 2018, he paid Rs 1.5 Crore through cash and checks.
“When the construction was finished and I asked them to carry out the registry, they first made a reason to delay the process and then began to threaten us,” he said.
When buyers asked about the couple, they knew that the duo had taken a large number of loans on the property provided.
“They tell us that the property is free of any loan and they will register the floor as soon as the construction is complete,” said Raj.
Raj has filed a complaint to the economic wing of the Gurgaon Police in August and after the initial investigation, a case was registered under Section 406 (criminal violations of trust), 420 (cheating), 468 (paper forging), 471 (using fake documents) and 120B ( Criminal conspiracy) IPC at the Sushant Lok Police Station.
