Chennai: Customs official at Chennai International Airport on Wednesday grabs 5.06 kg of gold – worth RS 2.19 Crore – from 10 passengers.
Passengers have gold foil hidden on used laptops and tablets.
Officials also seized electronic goods worth Rs 48.6 lakh from passengers, who arrived here from Dubai in Emirates (EK-544) and Srilangan flights (UL 121, Colombo Transit).
Five passengers were arrested.
Further investigation is taking place.
