Kolkata: Police visit restaurants, bars, shops, and other companies on Thursday, asking them to lower the window starting at 10:30 so that customers and workers can return home at 11pm.

“We have asked for restaurant owners and other shops to obey the night limit.

“Based on our experience in the past five months, we have planned several steps at certain points in the coming days to fight violations of night limitations and traffic regulations, including excessive and drinking driving,” said a police commissioner assistant.
The police said that the area reported the highest number of violations after midnight different from 11 nights reporting violations.
Between 11 nights and midnight, maximum violations were seen in areas such as Park Street, Park Circus, Ballygunge and Garawan.
Post a midnight violation shifted to Ultadang and Tiljala.
“We need better coordination with BidhanNangar police, Barrackpore and recently to drive by driving at night.
To implement the night limitation, we need to step check the city entry point,” said an officer in Lalbazar.
