Agra: The High Court of Allahabad (HC) has expressed displeasure at the speed of investigation in the case of a 16-year-old student in Mainpuri Uttar Pradesh back in 2019.
The girl was suspected of being raped in a prominent government housing school building.
The court aired his dissatisfaction after the state government submitted a report status report this week which showed that the 170 suspect DNA sample was taken and sent to the laboratory for testing.
The results have not been received.
The court ordered the Director General of Police (DGP) to appear personally if the DNA test report was not on October 25, which was the next hearing date.
On September 17, the government has announced a new special investigation team (sitting) to take over the case after the court pulled the police to be careless with a probe.
DGP has recognized serious irregularities in investigations.
He had told the court that the cement was detected in underwear in the victim during laboratory tests, but the investigative officer did not send it for DNA testing within 45 days, as mandated.
This will help match samples on charges mentioned in FIR and also other suspects.
Previously, TOI had reported that new sitting investigating this case had collected a suspect’s blood sample, including the son of a minister of cabinet.
RS 1 Lakh gift was also announced for those who came by leading in this case by the Kanpur Zone, Bhanu Bhaskar, who led the new sitting.
This case was originally believed to commit suicide.
However, a pine was later registered with the Principal, Hostel Warden, and a boy from the flow of art on charges of murder and tried to rape, based on the complaint submitted by the girl’s father.
The rape fee was added after the post-mortem report found blood bent in the vagina and a tearful hymen.
