Dhaka: Bangladesh Police on Thursday night arrested 10 people for their involvement in a recent attack on Pavilion Durga Puja at JM Sen in Chittagong.
Nine of them belonged to clothing led by former Dhaka University of Central Student (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur, police said, reported Dhaka TRIBUNE.
They were arrested during the raids conducted at the end of Thursday in various parts of the port city and Satania, said Chittagong police officer Kotwali-in-Charge Nezam Uddin.
The police arrested the attacker after they were identified from CCTV camera recordings and photographs of the incident, reported Dhaka TRIBUNE.
The Bangladeshi Student Rights Council is a political clothing that pioneered the 2018 2018 Bangladeshi Civilian Quota Reform Movement (BCS).
This Leader of Nurul Haque Nur was later elected as vice president (VP) from Ducsu.
Bangladesh 2018 quota reform movement is the ongoing student movement which requires reform in policy regarding recruitment in Bangladesh government services.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh police have arrested Hossain Iqbal, the main suspect responsible for guarding the Koran in the Puja Durga place in Comilla, from Bazar Cox.
Faruk Ahmed, Supervisor of Police Commissioner (SP), said Iqbal was arrested from Shugandha Beach around 10:10 a.m.
on Thursday, reported Dhaka TRIBUNE.
After the arrest at Cox’s Bazar, Hossain- “The man responsible for maintaining the Quran in the place of Puja Comilla triggered an attack on Hinduism” – was taken to the Comilla police line on Friday.
On Wednesday, Iqbal was identified as the main suspect after the police examined CCTV recording.
