Chennai: It’s time to take your raincoat and umbrella because the weather has expected rainfall to intensify in the city and suburbs in the next few days with the northeast round the corner.
The IMD has expected a storm with mild rainfall to moderate to continue for the next two days, but the spell is expected to increase starting next week – the rainy season is expected to begin in the middle of next week.
Private forecasters and meteorologists say state and cities may have very simple onset because there may be no significant weather system that brings spells.
During the next 48 hours, IMD has expected a storm with light rainfall to moderate in several areas in the city and its surroundings with a cloudy sky.
Maximum and minimum temperature tends to be around 34C and 26C.
“The rainfall was caused by the cyclone circulation at a height of 1.5 km near the vomorine and trough areas related to the Arab Sea through Kerala and the coast of Karnataka,” said an official.
This atmospheric disorder tends to support wind convergence in the interior area during the day and is closer to the beach later on the night which results in convape activities.
This agency has expected severe spells in isolated places in the city and neighboring districts of Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengelpet on October 25 and 26.
Previously, Deputy Director General of Meteorology S Balachandran said the Northeast Monsun could arrive around October 26 when his condition benefited the wind flowing on the Bay of Bengal and Extreme Southern Peninsular India.
Personal weather observers broke the rainy season between 27 and 29 October.
Mahesh Palawat, Head of Meteorology, Skymet Weather, said the city and the country could expect patchwork from October 26 triggered by persistent flow of the northeast wind, which would bring moisture.
.
“There will only be a marginal increase in rainfall during the onset of the monsoon because there will be no weather system,” he said.
