Santosh Kumar Shukla, Senior Sub-Inspector, Police Station Surajpur, said the first SI claimed the surrender would occur in court.
But then, Arjun was then handed over to the Noida police after they told Delhi’s colleagues that he had been identified as the main suspect in this case.
On Friday morning, he led the police to Jalan Kutcha between Tilaapta and Devla, from where a bag was restored in the bushes.
It contains weapons of murder, knife, and jewelry worth around Rs 5 lakhs allegedly looted from the victim’s house, little.
Among other items found are iPhone 12, some pairs of footbands, foot rings and earrings, 10 silver coins, gold pendants, around Rs 30,000 in cash and a few US dollars.
The police claimed that when Arjun was taken to the place, he tried to escape after taking a gun from sub-inspectors.
When he fired at them, the police shot him in his legs in self-defense, they added.
The victim’s family and police said that the woman was engaged to get married, who made Arjun angry.
“Arjun is a cousin of sister-in-law’s victim and wants to marry her.
Both of them know each other both and often conversations occur between them.
He is in depression after knowing his upcoming marriage,” said DCP (Central Nida) Harish Chander.
Additional DCP (middle noida) Ankur Aggarwal said the defendant tried to convince the woman not to marry someone else.
Arjun, however, claimed he pressed him to marry him.
