JAIPUR: At a gross Breach of Covid protocol, over 1500 people attended the funeral of religious-cum-social Pioneer Haji Rifat Hussain at the Walled City of Jaipur on Monday.

Hussain, who died of a heart attack, was the greatest Muslim leader one of the Barelvi school of Islam.
His funeral procession began from his dwelling in Paharganj into the shrine of Maulana Ziauddin in Char Darwaja through Surajpole along with Ramganj Chaupad.
An eyewitness stated over 2,000 men attended his Nawaz-E-Janaza on the primary street at Pahar Ganj.
The news of the passing spread like wildfire from the Muslim dominated areas in town.
Police also became busy in the field expecting huge turnout by devoting extra pay.
Even barricading was set in position at several areas to stop people from walking using the procession.
The household assured authorities that they wouldn’t enable the people to attend to the funeral besides a few relatives after Covid protocol.
The inaction of authorities encouraged the audience to ditch in enormous numbers and also attended the procession grossly breaking social distancing.
Police acted like a mute spectator through the procession with no actions.
In viral movies, they are sometimes viewed marching before the funeral when making no attempt to disperse the crowd.
TOI called and texted Paris Deshmukh, DCP Jaipur City (North), however he did not respond.
Banwarilal Meena, SHO Ramganj police station told TOI,”Nothing’s occurred (police activity ) to date.
