AURANGABAD: A retired Central Reserve Police Force jawan about Monday morning supposedly slit the neck of a girl staying next door as he guessed that she’d aided his daughter elope and get married.
He surrendered before the authorities in Burkulwadi of all Islapur of Nanded district.
The defendant identified as Suresh Rathod (50) has been detained.
The deceased girl was recognized as Babybai Chavan.
Islapur police station assistant inspector Sushant Kinge told TOI,”We’ve detained the defendant and he is going to be made before the court Tuesday for trying his police custody” The officer stated that the guy had consumed farming .
Lately, his daughter eloped with a childhood in the area and he had been offended.
“Even though the girl and also the youth belonged to the identical community in addition to same area, he guessed Babybai had played an active part in’brainwashing’ and assisting his kid elope,” explained Kinge.
The defendant has reportedly confessed to the authorities he couldn’t come to terms with his son’s elopement.
He explained that idea will fill him with anger.
At approximately 10.30 am on Monday, once he seen his neighbor, he utilized a sharp-edged weapon to slit the girl’s throat at the locality where they’ve been living together for a long time.
The natives rushed her into a hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
After taking out autopsy, the body has been handed over to her loved ones.
An offence contrary to the defendant was enrolled from the second half of this afternoon.
The episode briefly triggered tensions in the region, after which police bandobast has been set up.
