Vadodara: The baby kidnapped last week from Naviniagri in Waghodia Taluka was found to have a partner in Bihar who had paid Rs 4 lakh for it.
Vadodara’s rural police in Gujarat posted Narendrakumar Ranjan, who wanted the child to himself, Kalpesh Rathod, who was contacted by Ranjan, Pravin Chunara, wife of Chunara Daxa Chunara, Kalidas Vagihri and Raman Rathodiya to carry out kidnapping.
Police said that Ranjan had contacted Rathod about six months for a child because he and his wife did not have children.
Rathod, a resident of Panchmahal, then contacted the Chunara couple who lived under the Fatehgunj Flyover bridge to find a child.
When the couple could not find a child, they contacted Vaghri, who came from their community, to find a child in Waghodia.
Recently, Vaghri knew that a woman from her community living in a neighboring village had released a baby boy.
On October 21, he planned to kidnap the child along with Rathodiya.
Late at night, when the family members were sleeping, Vaghri and Rathodiya entered the house and took the child.
He gave the child to Chunara’s partner, who passed him to Rathod.
Ranjan and his wife were called to Gujarat and the child was handed over to them for Rs 4 Lakh.
When the police collected all the kidnappers, Ranjan and his wife had gone for Bihar.
A police team was then sent to Bihar and the child and Ranjan was brought back.
On Tuesday, the child was handed over to his parents and all accused of being arrested.
