Thiruvananthapuram: The government will immediately submit a proposal to RS 2,000 Crore to the Rehabilitation Center of the Non-Resident (NRKS) which has returned to the house permanently from abroad amid the Covid Pandemic, Minister of Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly on Wednesday.
Replying to the calling movement of the call by Manjalamkuzhi Ali, the ministerial chief said that this was an additional package that had been carried out by the state.
The minister’s chairman said that until October 26, 2021, 17,51,852 NRK had been brought back after registering through the Portal Covid-19 Hagratha.
At the same time, according to the details provided by the Indian Airport Authority (AAI), as many as 39,55,230 people returned through the airport in the state from May 2020 to October 21, this year.

The government has provided immediate assistance Rs 5,000 per person to 1,33,800 people who have arrived with a valid passport and a valid work visa but cannot return.
Also, the government has provided each of the 10,000 up to 181 expatriates that are beaten by Covid-19.
A total of 18,278 pravational retirement recipients have been given a financial assistance of Rs 1,000, said CM.
Vijayan said that as many as 12.67 lakh expatriates had lost their jobs due to a pandemic.
The number of Rs 50 Crore has been intended in a budget of 2021-22 to offer assistance for entrepreneurial initiatives.
This is an addition to the assistance offered through Kudumbashree, cooperative society and corridation of the development of Kerala State Industry (KSIDC), he said.
Through the Norka Department project for emigrant returns (NDPREM), RS 24.4 Crore will be disbursed in the ongoing financial year.
For those who plan to return from abroad, the government has launched a repository project and the skills of the Norka Skill Repository and Reintegration Project, he added.
