Nagpur: Thursday is an important day for amateur theater movements in Nagpur.
The competition played one major rounds for theater activists Marathi and Hindi ‘Typical CUP Theater Festival’ began at the Scientific Society Hall, such first events in the past two years.
The curtain rose for the first time after destroying the second wave of Covid-19, the beneficial theater bells rang again, and more than 450 amateur theater activists and technicians had a new opportunity to show off their talents on a new competitive platform.
This festival will continue for the next three days in the same place and the distribution of prizes will be held in Suresh Bhat Hall on October 31.
When opening this competitive event this year’s theater this year, the former Mayor of Anil Sole, who happened to be president.
The committee that has held a ‘typical Sanskrutic Mahotsav’ since 2019 in Nagpur said that the next edition of the cultural festival will be held in November.
Sole said that with the government allowed open air events, they had hit the date for the “signature” cultural festival.
“The typical Mahotsav will be held from November 28 in several open open places,” he added added that the event would be unforgettable like the first edition.
The artist welcomed this announcement with applause.
“Like theater competition, the Mega Culture Festival in November will help bring back normal life.
Artists in Nagpur are waiting for such events,” said Naresh Gadekar, Central President of Nagpur Marathi Natya Parishad.
Previously, Kanchan Gadkari inaugurated the Typical One-Act Game Cup competition.
This is the first year of the event where 23 groups from the district participated.
Rules, regulations, and norms have been framed in the line of playing contests one-acting ‘Purushottam Teachak’, which is considered one of the most prestigious competitive theater events of Maharashtra.
Girish Gandhi, Trustee Marathi Natya Parishad, said that the competition must be difficult.
“Unfortunately, there are several groups in Nagpur who enjoy objections to the judge’s decision.
We must ban such groups next year,” he added that the competition must invite entries from opposite Vidarbha from next year.
The edition of the Drama Competition Permata is dedicated to the 75-year Theme of Independence ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.
