Dehradun: ‘Hunar Haat’, a handicraft exhibition aimed at providing market exposure and employment opportunities for craftsmen and craftsmen from the minority community, has become a credible platform to strengthen the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘vocals for local’, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Friday.
Overcoming the inaugural ceremony of Hunar Haut Mela here, the Minority Union Minister said more than 5.60 lakh craftsmen, traditional craftsmen and culinary experts were given employment opportunities through initiatives.
About 500 craftsmen and craftsmen from all over the country featuring custom products made of wood, brass, bamboo, glass, cloth, paper and clay, among others in Hunar Haat in Dehradun.
Inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a school in the race courses here, this event also saw the explanation of family members Freedom Fighters.
In its address, Dhami said there was no scarcity of skilled craftsmen and craftsmen in this country.
However, they are looking for markets for their art and crafts.
“Hunar Haat has provided a large market and opportunity for such craftsmen and craftsmen,” he said, adding that this initiative also strengthened the Prime Minister’s campaign for ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
