Farmers urge officials to enforce a single plastic ban on use

Coimbatore: Farmers have urged the district administration to strictly enforce plastic item prohibitions using a single, while increasing the problem of traders and business actors in line using plastic items carefully prohibited during a complaint meeting held in the Collectorate District here on Friday.
G Ganesan, a farmer from Annur, said his cow often developed health problems after eating plastic bags dumped on grazing soil.

He said that they had asked the government to make the allocation of Rs 3 Crore per year to compensate for farmers because they lose their plants.
