Nagpur: Aapli bus staff mercilessly beaten by a driver of the Autorickshaw and his accomplice near the Depot Maharajbagh on Wednesday night.
Vinod Ambadekar was injured, who worked as a traffic controller with travel time (one of the red bus operators), suffered damage to one of his eyes in the attack.
An official from the AAPLI bus program manager – Integrated Multi-Capital Transit System Delhi (DIMTS) Ltd confirmed the incident and said the attack took place after Ambadekar objected to the autorickshaw driver which blocked the city bus route on Wednesday afternoon on Wednesday.
Ambadekar’s mind did not go down well with a group of autorickshaw drivers.
One of them got very nervous and threatening the consequences of red buses that were very nervous and threatened.
He, however, left the place soon after.
“On Wednesday night, the driver of the Autorickshaw returned along with three to five feet.
They allegedly harassed Ambadekar, clamping it and began to rain,” the official said.
As passengers and other staff intervene, taking advantage of riots, the attackers escaped from the scene.
Ambadekar rushed to Mure Memorial Hospital with a serious injury in the left eye and head.
He then shifted to Esic Hospital.
When the hospital did not have an ophthalmologist, Ambadekar was referred to a private hospital.
Even though his condition was stable, the retina of his left eye was severely damaged, a doctor’s report said.
Then, travel time and Dimts filed a complaint with Sitabuldi police on Thursday night.
The police have recorded Ambadekar’s statement.
On the basis of complaints, Sitabuldi police have begun to investigate to capture unknown attackers.
There is no arrest carried out until the report archiving.
The bus driver and conductor alleged that the police did not receive serious recognition of their previous complaints which were one reason for the increase in attack on the Aapli bus staff.
On Friday, TOI visited Maharajbagh Road and found the autorickshaw driver parked their vehicles in front of the bus and even tried to draw commuter buses into their vehicles.
The Aapli bus staff further accused their complaints even for traffic police falling in deaf ears.
Under the protection of traffic police, the driver of the Autorickshaw has a free run in many busy places in Sitabuldi, including the Maharajbagh road, Variety Square, Rani Jhansi Square and Munje Chowk, which they claim.
