Agra: The lawyer association in Agra has refused to provide legal assistance to three Kashmir students who were charged with incitement after they allegedly cheered by Pakistan against India in the T-20 World Cup match, forcing the family to approach supporters in other cities.

Family members of one of the students, who reached Agra on Friday, said they were seeking help from Chaturvedi after they found that lawyers in Agra had refused to take this case.
Speaking with Toi, Chaturvedi said, “We will move the application of the guarantee for students in the Agra Court immediately,” he said.
Lawyers, meanwhile, issued a statement that no assistance will be given to “those who fight the country”.
“These students get entrance tickets under the scheme of Special Scholarship (PMSSS) in India to build their careers and they cheer for neighboring countries against their nation,” said Nitin Verma, President of the Association of Youth Lawyers (Agra Division).
The President of the Agra Advocate Association, Sunil Sharma, said students must focus on their studies instead of “indulging anti-national activities”.
“They are not worthy of legal assistance from us for such actions,” he said.
Other associations in this district, including the JanPad Bar Association, a lawyer cooperation committee and Agra Youth Vishal Advocate Association (Collectorate) also said they would not provide legal assistance to those who were “involved in anti-national activities.” On Thursday, the students from the RBS Engineering Technical Institute had been heckled by members of the BJP Wing Youth when they were taken to district prisons after being produced in court.
Some lawyers also tried to land on them.
The students were booked on Wednesday to “promote hostility, carrying out prejudiced for maintaining harmony, making a statement that conducted public damage” and for cyber terrorism, violations that could cause a lifelong sentence.
The incitement accusation was added a day later.
Meanwhile, the Association of Students Jammu & Kashmir has prepared a list of universities throughout the country where Kashmir students “do not need to be harassed” and urge each state government for their blacklist.
A spokesman for the Association, said Nasir Khuisami, “We are coordinating with the state government in Punjab, Karnataka, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where Kashmir students are studying.
We have prepared a list of colleges like that and the same thing will be forwarded to Each government against those who fail to provide protection and ensure the security of their students.
