Gurgaon: District administration on Saturday enforces a ban on production and sales of firecrackers besides green crackers.
In addition, the outbreak of green crackers will be permitted for only two hours during Diwali – starting at 8pm to 10pm in November 4.
This step comes because the air quality index (AQI) is recorded in the ‘poor’ category for the second day in a row on Saturday.
Manufacturing, sales, and the use of firecrackers join (best-selling) are also prohibited because they contribute to air pollution and large noise and solid waste problems, officials said.

Only IICENSED merchants will be allowed to sell crackers who are permitted to order the Supreme Court.
“If there is a violation in the implementation of orders, Sho from the police station concerned will be borne personally,” said the commandment issued by Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg.
“If there are people who violate orders, strict actions will be taken under legal provisions,” he added.
