Nagpur: After successfully assigning a mini waste treatment plant in Shankar Nagar Garden, Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Monday started another STP in Gandhibagh Garden.
Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, MLC and BJP President Pravin Datke and Mla Vikas Kumbhare inaugurated STP which has the capacity to treat 5,000 liters of waste water per day.
Tiwari said that work to install 14 mini syst in a different park was ongoing.
“If all mini stps begins to function, NMC can save 40 latric water liters in the city,” he said.
NMC is the first city company in the country where waste water recycling projects will be arranged in 14 parks.
Water from the Nullah flowing under Gandhibagh Park will be recycled and used in the park, the mayor said.
Every year there is a lack of water in the park during the summer by thinning the water level in the well.
“To overcome it, the NMC has done this project and now green plants in NMC parks can be easily maintained even during the summer that are scorched,” he added.
The entire system used for wastewater treatment plants is produced by Japanese companies.
The work to install 14 mini STP in another park is in the final stage.
