Kolkata: Arrest of the Mastermind Saubeer Banerjee ATM aka SK Shahid Alam by Tollygunge Police last Saturday has now led the police to solve other shoulder surf cases in the ATM, one of which is more than 13 months.
On Monday, the Tollygunge police told Biswanath Dey Roy (69), retired Engineer, that Banerjee had calmed him more than Rs 6 Lakh.
The money is a savings of engineers after more than 40 years of service at various tire factories.
“Roy is the first victim of Banerjee in a crime that saw many senior citizens losing money hard.
So far, we have found him involved in four cases in the Netaji Nagar-Tollygunge-Lake-Kasba area,” said a senior officer.
He was also under the scanner in 18 other cases.
The police got pedestrians from several stores located in and around Dhakuria-Lake-Golpark Area after studying CCTV footage hours.
Sleuth said the defendant was operated from the Durgapur-Raniganj belt.
“I broke my heart when I lost money.
RS 13 was left in my account.
This case was finally taken by the anti-bank fraud.
On Monday, when the police showed me a photo of the defendant, I immediately recognized him,” said Roy.
“I suspected my ATM card was exchanged for another card in the boutique where I shop on October 19 last year,” Roy added.
According to the technical supervision police team and source information helped them accuse.
