Kolkata: The detective department team visited the address of South Kolkata and Diamond Harbor on Tuesday to find items stolen after the Kilburn Engineering MD Subir Chaki and driver Rabin Mandal in Chaki ‘Kankulia Road on October 17.
The police also tried to restore murder weapons, based on the initial question accusing Vickey Haldar and the Mondal Associate Subhankar.
Police said Vickey still changed his statement but it seemed he had approached a relative cum friend, with a link in Diamond Harbor, and handed him some of Chaki’s items and the driver in exchange for money.
This separate from Vickey’s money has been collected from his office to escape from the city the day after the murder, claiming the source.
Vickey and Subhankar, after being arrested in Mumbai, were taken to Kolkata and was produced at the Alipore Court on Tuesday.
They were sent in police custody until November 13.
Public Prosecutor Sourin Ghoshal told the court that police custody needed to restore weapons, steal booty and reconstruct crime.
They also need to be questioned if there are other people involved, Ghoshal said.
Vickey has worked as a guard in Mumbai a year ago, when he took English and Hindi.
Subhankar, a worker, first met Vickey on a construction site in Fern Road, where he was the supervisor, said an officer.
He had left Rasanti his house three years ago after he was caught stealing and had returned once to take his clothes, his parents told the police.
“Among those present at Chaki’s house, Vickkey and Subhankar closest.
The others were recruited by Mrs.
Vickey Mithu,” Cops said.
