Guwahati: The key conditions for rehabilitating families described from state-owned land in Sipajhar in the Darrang District Assam last September are that the names of the beneficiaries must be part of the updated national list of residents (NRC), the government led by BJP told the jawati of the High Court on Wednesday.

In mass violence on September 23, the state said the investigation was ongoing to ensure the facts and conditions that lead to the incident and whether each external power or organization was involved in inciting anger.
The division bench made on behalf of the state government in the order was issued on Wednesday.
