PATNA: Four police personnel were hurt in stone pelting by people engaged in illegal sand mining to the banks of their Sikri in Paura village beneath Kadirganj authorities station outpost at Nawada district Monday night.
The wounded cops were recognized as havildar Mahesh Paswan and constables Rahul Kumar, Shailesh Kumar along with Shiv Kumar.
Police on Tuesday arrested 20 people on charges of assaulting a combined team of police and mines as well as geology department.
Kadirganj authorities outpost incharge Suraj Kumar explained two police vehicles and also a mines department car were also damaged.
“One Pappu Yadav is the kingpin of this sand mining racket.
He’s evading arrest.
Raids are about to detain him,” he explained.
Nawada Sadar SDPO Upendra Prasad stated a sand-laden truck has been captured from the place.
“Driver of some other truck was able to escape his loaded car.
Altogether 41 understood individuals, such as Pappu, and over 100 other unidentified villagers are created accused in the FIR.
Of these, 20 were detained,” Prasad additional.
