BERHAMPUR: A three-day-old boy, orphaned and contaminated with the coronavirus in the dawn, is currently battling for his life in the MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
His 27-year-old mum, an anganwadi worker, died of Covid-19 on Monday, a day after he had been born.
Deeptimayee Devi, by Padarabali village at Ganjam district Kukudakhandi cube, gave birth to the boy on Sunday while she had been undergoing therapy for Covid-19.
She had been admitted to the hospital on May 27.
She had been brough into the hospital Prior to being admitted to this hospital, so she had been struggling with high fever and showed some other signs of Covid-19.
She had been undergoing therapy at home until afterward, sources said.
Apart from her husband, the deceased leaves a five-year-old woman.
Superintendent of this medical school Santosh Kumar Mishra explained the infant is in isolation at the Covid Hospital.
A group of paediatricians and nurses have been caring for it.
A body sexier was given to the Covid hospital just for him personally, he explained.
“The physicians feed with milk.
The infant was additionally administered saline and shot for fast retrieval from Covid-19,” he added.
The infant is in good shape, ” said associate professor of this medical school Sunil Agrawal.
The infant’s grandmother was attending him at the hospital,” sources said.
An one-month-old infant son of Pati Sonapur, that tested positive for Covid-19, died in the hospital Sunday.
The baby, who had been born at a private hospital on April 27, was admitted to the hospital on May 16.
His parents had tested negative for the virus.
On May 14, a 15-day-old Covid-19 favorable boy, whose parents tested negative, had died at the medical faculty.
