Jaipur: Governor Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik on Sunday attacked the central government and BJP about the issue of farmers and the Central Vista project while stating that he was not afraid to be asked to retreat.
The leaders in Delhi sent their condolences even when a dog died but none of them expressed the sadness of the death of the farmers “600” during agitation of three aggregation laws, he claimed.
He also referred to the murder of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, asked the government to not hostile the Sikh community.
He said there were people in government supporting farmers but “one or two people” arrogant.
Malik, who was appointed as governor in Jammu and Kashmir and Goa, before posted to Meghalaya, had swiped the government.
The latest statement was made during the address to the JAT community in Jaipur.
Malik said he was not afraid to lose his position as governor to target “Delhi leaders” to the problem of farmers and will go down every time he was asked to do so.
Governor Meghalaya said the farmers who protested would not return from Delhi empty-handed, but only after getting success.
Referring to the violence of the Republican Day when the farmers on their tractors headed to the Red Fortress of the capital, he said after the prime minister was the right of JAT and Sikh to lift the national flag there.
Farmers from both communities form most protesters on the Delhi border.
Malik claimed that the army also felt the impact of protests when the sons of the farmer served there.
He said when injustice occurred, one day people reacted to him.
In the indirect reference to the farmers’ protest against BJP leaders in Haryana, he said Minister M L Khettar helicopter could not land in any village in the state.
He also targets the government for the construction project of the Vista Center, saying it would be better if it builds a world-class college instead of a new parliament building because this country does not have quality education.
He said the farmer’s problem could be resolved by overcoming the minimum support price subject (MSP).
Even before the new agricultural laws were passed in parliament, the Adani Group had established a failed Godown in Panipat Haryana, he claimed.
