Patna: Bihar JD Decision (U) broadcasts the track to compete around 20, out of a total of 60 seats, in the upcoming Assembly poll in Manipur, which is scheduled to be held in March next year.
National Secretary of the Party and Manipur In-Charge Rambrit Mandal will visit Northeast State on November 13 on a four-day tour to review the current political scenario and party preparation for the upcoming Assembly poll.
“Mandal, a member of the Sabha from Bihar’s Jhanjharpur, during the four-day stay at Northeast State, will also review sustainable preparation for the proposed Mega Rally rally, the capital of Manipur, on December 11,” JD (U) Manipur’s state president and Former Minister Hangkhanpao Taithul told Ti by telephone on Friday.
Mega rally will be led by JD (U) National President of Rajiv Ranjan Singh aka Lalan Singh.
JD (U) wants to show his strength in Manipur ruled by BJP through the proposed Mega rally that will be handled by several JD (U) top leaders, a political analyst.
“We have received a formidable candidate for at least 15 seats.
The more resilient candidate includes several Mola sitting, the former MLA is in the process of joining a party.
Some of them can join JD (U) during Mega’s rally.

However, he added that the final decision regarding the number of seats would be taken by the National Leadership JD (U).
The importance of Manipur’s poll for JD (U) can be measured from the fact that Lalan Singh himself led a team of four senior party leaders to Imphal on October 8, the visitors, consisting of senior leaders such as KC Tyagi, Afaque Ahmad Khan and RP Mandal, living in Manipur for four days to assess the power of the party to win the assembly poll of different constituencies.
Taithul said, some sitting MLA and former MLA from other parties, relating to JD (U) leaders have expressed their desire to join the Bihar decision party ahead of the poll in Manipur.
In the last assembly poll held in 2017, Congress, who won 28 seats to emerge as the largest party in 60 members of the Manipur Assembly, saw members leave the old party from time to time.
Then, in the change of dramatic event, BJP, which only pocketed 21 seats, formed the government with the support of the three regional parties – the People’s Dragon Front (NPF), the National People’s Party (LJP) and Lok Jansakti Party (LJP)).
The only LJP Mla Karam Shyam joined BJP who was in power on Thursday.
