Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), who plans to encourage covid vaccination through a door-to-door drive, has reached more than 1,500 poor people who do not have evidence of identification.
“This is a beggar, poor, transgender and religious monks who do not have identification papers but need to be vaccinated,” officials said.
Deputy Commissioner NMC Ram Joshi said it could happen through special camps – facilities available in the Co-Win application itself.

Gowardhan Nawghare, NMC immunization officers, said, “Inmates in prisons and mental hospitals have been covered with such drives regardless of those who live in poor places such as missionaries of charity shelter in Katol Road.” Transgender vaccination is done through Sarthi Trust NGOs.
Other LSGO Beari Bachao also participated in the drive.
Homeless people found near the cotton market have also been vaccinated in the same way.
“If someone does not have any documents as proof of ID, there are special provisions in the co-win application.
The person’s name can be registered with other people’s credentials that refer to them.
Even the evidence of a single ID is enough with which all groups can be vaccinated based on one document ID , “said Nawghare.
Even NMC officials provide their ID documents for these purposes, add officials.
“NMC has taken cases through NGOs.
However, such people will also cover the Door-to-Door campaign planned by the Civic body,” Nawghare said.
The elderly who does not have papers or even less can be covered under the door-to-door drive.
These people are expected to work in stores or take similar calls in the unorganized sector.

“I got the two doses back at Bihar,” said Sujit Kumar, a worker on the site.
Mahadev Marandi, another worker, said he had his first dose in his home country in Jharkhand and the second was not due.
