Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Friday criticized the decision to observe Birsa Munda’s birthday as Janjatiya Gaurav dijwas and claimed that the central announcement was only aimed at the benefits of the BJP selection and quell differences in SC, ST and OBC.
“Ironically, the center of observing Janjatiya Gaurav diwas to respect the tribal freedom fighters while destroying their village in the Jharkhand on behalf of development,” said Secretary General JMM Supriyo Bhattacharya.
Reference Bhattacharya is to Choo and Villages Saliya in Lowerhar which may be submerged after the construction of the Mandal Dam is complete.
The villages are home to freedom of tribal ninamber and pitamber fighters.
Mandal Dam Construction Begin by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019.
“If the center is truly concerned about the honor of the tribal community, then it must pass the Sarna code.
The center must also recognize Assam Tea tribes as a member of the St.
Community and provide IIT status to the Institute Birsa Sindri technology, “added Bhattacharya.
JMM also accused the government led by BJP under the former Minister of Chief Raghubar Das has transferred funds received from the center under the Sub Plan (TSP) to regulate the Summit of the Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors in 2017 and spend luxury in the State Government of BLITZ advertising.
“BJP suddenly became concerned about the honor and dignity of the tribes as the election season began to approach.
But would it clarify why the center did not apply the law and provisions of the fifth and sixth constitution in the letter and spirit?” Bhattacharya said.
