Guwahati: Komandan officers 46 Assam Rifles, Col Viplav Tripathi, his wife, eight-year-old son and four quick reaction team personnel (QRT) were killed in an ambush by alleged terrorist group Manipur, People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the Country Churychandpur District near the Indian border Myanmar this morning.
Four other QRT personnel were injured.
An official source said, “A CO 46 AR convoy, Col Viplav Tripathi was ambushed at around 10:30 this morning near Sialsi Village under the Churachandpur District Police Station.
According to the initial report, four people including co, wife and small sons have been killed in Ambush.
Some intermittent shots are still ongoing.
Tripathi CO has visited his Behiang post on November 12, 2021 and returned.
The initial indication was that PLA was behind the incident.

The name of his wife is Anuja and Abu’s son.
Minister of Manipur’s Head of Manipur Biren Singh Tweeted, “Very condemning a coward attack on the 46 AR convoy has reportedly killed several personnel including co & family in CCPUR at this time.
State & Paramilitary Forces have been in their work to track guerrillas.
The perpetrators will be taken to court .
“on June 4, 2015, a joint team of army Dragon, KYKL and KCP have done one of the deadliest attacks when they ambushed the convoy regiment Dograda 6th in Tengnoupal-New Somtal Road in Chandel District of Manipur where 18 men soldiers killed and 11 others were injured.
