CHENNAI: A day after a senior police officer told TOI the Manikandan alias C Vitamin Mani, a mythical town gangsterthat has been picked up by a hideout at Teynampet, artwork of a sub-inspector with bullet injuries on his shoulder allegedly endured during the surgery went viral Wednesday.
There was no clarity on the way the history-sheeter, included in over 10 instances of murders and 22 cases of extortion and kidnapping, was detained or the way he took SI Balakrishnan.

According to authorities, Mani, 46, was detained in a’daytime operation’ on Outer Ring Road on Wednesday if he had been arriving from a lavish car near Porur.
After SI Balakrishnan and his staff attempted to prevent him about 2pm, the defendant refused to open up the door and opened fire with his unlicensed weapon.
Balakrishnan was taken on his shoulder.
Despite enduring accidents, the SI along with other policemen chased Mani.
When they had been going to nab himMani jumped the flyover on ORR and suffered injuries to his hand and leg.

Authorities said that they have captured a pistol, ammunition and also the automobile involved in the episode.
Mani began his career crime by selling pirated VCDs of movies.
Then he got into property bargains, targeting large ticket possessions under lawsuit.
He had been busy in Velachery, Madipakkam along with other South Chennai regions.
On March 3, 2020, a group hurled a country-bomb in his car at Teynampet on Anna Salai.
He survived the effort.
In relation to the episode, his rival’Kakkathope’ Balaji was detained in February this year by Andhra Pradesh.
Authorities are still looking for other people.
