Thane: The police have arrested a child for allegedly stealing cash with Rs 1 lakh song and two cellphones from a hotel where he worked in Thane City, police said on Tuesday.
Theft occurred in a hotel in the Naupada area in the city on the night intervention on Sunday and Monday, when the boy uses a key duplicate to open hotels and steal cash and cellphones, said Senior Inspector Anil Deshmukh.
Based on the tip-off, the police arrested the defendant from the Terminus Chhatrapati Shivaji train station in neighboring Mumbai, because he would take the train to West Bengal, he said.
The police have recovered cash in RS 1 lakh and cellphones worth 10,000 from the defendant, which have been ordered based on Section 381 (theft) and other provisions of the IPC, which is added to officials.
