PANAJI: When the ministers can have “3,000 units” of electricity every month, what is wrong with giving 300 units of free power to ordinary people, Minister of Delhi’s Chairman Arvind Kejriwal asks on Tuesday.
The leader of the AAM AADMI party spoke at a public meeting in the constituency of the Poriem Assembly in the North Goa district ahead of the Goa Assembly poll next year.
Vishwajit Krishna Rane, a local BJP leader (don’t be confused by the Minister of Health Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane), inaugurated into the party during the event.
A BJP priest from Delhi recently objected to the promise of AAP 300 free electricity units if selected to be in power in Goa, Kejriwal said.
“When a minister can get 3,000 units of free electricity every month, why can’t I give 300 units to ordinary people,” he asked.
Kejriwal also said his party aims to eradicate corruption in Goa.
“I’m not a politician.
I’m not a leader.
I’m ‘aam aadmi’ like all of you,” he said.
Ten years ago, there was a “arrangement” between Congress and BJP that shared strength as an alternative every five years, said Kejriwal.
“We have given the best government in Delhi …
we have provided the best government school.
Parents have begun to attract their children from private schools and recognize them in government schools,” he said.
AAP wants to bring the Delhi government model to Goa, he added.
