Ghaziabad: Nine illegal weapons manufacturing units have been captured and more than 300 pistols and Kattas made this country recovered this year.
Apart from the crackdown, Ghaziabad police said the procurement of illegal weapons or Country Country pistols continued to be easy in the city.
Loni, Muradnagar, and Modinagar, said a senior police officer, are some areas where some of these manufacturing pistols have emerged.
And the most popular Kattas sold by them were 0.315 bore and 0.32 and 0.30 bore pistols.
The illegal state-made gun, the police said, are generally produced from truck parts, especially the lower end of the steering teeth because it is strong and can hold a shootout.
Illegal weapons are then formed into barrels by manufacturers with the help of heat produced in the furnace.
According to the police, the state-made gun is generally sold for RS20,000 each while the smaller, shaped like a gun, sells for RS10,000 each, while the Capas costs anywhere between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000, according to quality.
SP (rustic) IRAJ King said there were two types of people who wanted a gun made by the country.
“First, it is a villain and the second is the people whose weapons have been rejected by the administrator.
Criminals prefer the country’s weapons for sophisticated because they are cheaper, can be bought without licenses and no accountability of ammunition.
Also, the barrel is damaged after use two Times or three times, therefore they have no reason to save it.
Even if the defendant is arrested, restoring weapons will be very difficult, “he added.
Police study, he said, revealed that every time an illegal weapons factory was damaged in Ghaziabad, the crime rate with weapons dropped in the area for several days.
In April, the Ghaziabad police had restored 47 illegal firearms, including the Kattas and Guns made by the country together with 43 live cartridges, and damaged a unauthorized manufacturing unit under special operations made.
