In his petition, he looked for court intervention to stop the residents’ polls from phases in Kolkata and Howrah instead of holding city polls throughout the state.
Banerjee understands that the election commission of the state selection is likely to announce the polls only for Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Howrah Municipal Corporation When the polls were delayed in a number of municipality for more than two years after the selected council term ended in 2018.

The court repaired the next hearing about this problem on November 24.
