Roger Federer will miss the Australian Open in January and it is impossible to return to competition until the mid 2022 when he recovered from several knee surgery, the world number one was to Switzerland Media.
Federer, 40, also said he would be “very surprised” if he could play at Wimbledon, a grand slam he had won a record of eight times with his last title coming in 2017.

“I have to be very patient and give my knees time to recover.
The next few months will be very important,” Federer told the Le Matin newspaper.
Federer’s agent did not immediately respond to a comment request.

The coach Ivan Ljubicic said earlier this week that Federer could not play in Melbourne Park in January because he would not be at 100%.
