New Delhi: The Delhi government has allowed retail liquor stores in a market that is not approved in unauthorized colonies and rural areas.
The Excise Ministry issued an order on Wednesday after a cabinet decision on November 5 which allowed the opening of the retail liquor in an inappropriate area.
Orders facilitate the opening of at least two liquor stores in every city ward as the mandate with new excise policies.
Meanwhile, the city continued to wrestle with a lack of liquor even on Thursday with many majestic new stores – almost 200 had been opened in two days – did not have enough stock.
Under new policies, 850 liquor stores will be opened while all existing stores are closed on November 16.
The command Wednesday stated that the application for the retail liquor store license may be considered as long as there is no appropriate area category in a particular environment.
“Furthermore, two obligatory profits can be allowed to open in wards that do not have the appropriate area, i.e.
only have 100% areas that are not appropriate,” he added.
Applicants must provide a written statement stating that the person concerned does not have the appropriate area, which refers to commercial and industrial areas notified or approved by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) or city corporation.
“In case, every city ward is found to have a suitable area, the license recipient must be bound to shift the retail vend into the appropriate area in accordance with the terms and conditions of the license within 30 days the notification problem by the department,” the order shows.
The liquor store on a market that is not approved will not be smaller than the approved market.
The minimum carpet area for all stores is 500 square feet.
“The opening of a retail vend in an inappropriate area can obtain the necessary approval from DDA and city corporations related to license holders,” said Ordo.
The Excise Ministry has requested a zonal retail license to immediately submit a request for retail license grants to jump them in the city ward without the appropriate area and submit a physical copy of the application with the required documents.
