Chennai: Heavy rain estimates that isolated places in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Tirupattor, Erode and Salem Tamil Nadu area after depression formed above Bay Bay crossing the beach between Puducherry and Chennai between 3am and 4 in the morning.
A Meet Department Bulletin said that this system lies 60km south-southwest of Chennai and 60 km northeast of Puducherry.
“It’s likely to move to northwest west and weaken to low pressure in the next 12 hours.” The presence of depression will bring rain and sheer wind for six hours.
Fishermen have been advised not to explore the sea from South Andhra Beach, TN and Puducherry for six hours.
Chennai and neighboring districts receive rain: rainfall status at 7:30 a.m.: nungambakkam – 45mm, meenambakkam-54, MRC Nagar – 44.5, Taramani – 32, Nandanam – 20 and Villivakkam – 44.
Other areas: Puducherry: 192mm, Tiruvannamalai, 102mm , Vellore – 58mm, Cuddalore – 30mm, Salem – 25mm.
