PANAJI: In the 52 edition of the Indian International Film Festival (IFFI), the opening film, ‘King All World’, will be screened in INOX and not the academy because of repairs.
Asghar Farhadi’s film, ‘hero’ will be the closing film.
Scheduled from November 20 and so on, the festival is being held in a hybrid format for the second time because of a pandemic.
Virtual segments will have partnerships with Major players Ott Netflix, Amazon, Zee 5 and Viacom.
The main release and master class will be displayed on this platform.
This year, 148 films from 73 countries will be filtered.
This edition, 2,000 delegates have been confirmed from 3,000 applications received.
Goa entertainment society said that the Goa government spent RS 16-18 Crore at IFFI this year while the Directorate of Film Festival (DFF) said they were “threatened” around Rs 9.5crore.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will also display film related activities.
Paris-based Institute will conduct a three-day virtual film workshop.
Student cinema initiatives, 75 creative thoughts will also be displayed where filmmakers under the age of 35 years from various parts of India have been invited to the festival to interact with Master Cinema at the opening ceremony and masterclasses.
There are 400 applications for this segment.
Hema Malini might be the main guest at the inauguration.
Other stars are also expected to arrive and 40 tickets have been spent to get Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Mouni Roy, among others.
Karan Johar and Manish Paul will be anchored with the inauguration.
Istvan Szabo and Martin Scorcese will not attend the festival to receive their Satyajit Ray award but will share video messages with hearings in the prime.
