Chennai: The Madras High Court on Friday gave a conditional guarantee to the DMK Cuddalore MP R Ramesh who was arrested for charges of murder.
This case was related to the murder of a worker in his metre unit by his colleagues.
Allowing Bail MP applications, Justice M Nirmal Kumar directs the prison authority to enlarge it to the guarantee.
Ramesh accused the complaint against it without the basis and that it was the handwork of the local politicians he had defeated in the election.
According to the prosecution, K Govindarasu, 55, from the village of Melmampattu has worked as a laborer in the Panikkuppam cashew processing unit, which is owned by the applicant.
On September 19, Govindarasu, while returning home from the office, stopped and questioned by other employees regarding theft in the cashew unit.
The employee was reported further accusing Govindarasu to steal cashew nuts from the processing unit.
Furthermore, five men and Ramesh attacked Govindarasu caused an injury seen on his face and neck.
On September 20, Govindarasu was found dead.
