Caregivers were attacked by security staff at Kerala Medical College; The minister convinces action

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Kerala Veena George on Sunday directing the Authority of the Thiruvananthapuram medical college to take a hard action against security staff there, who allegedly attacked a caregiver, so the incident did not repeat.
The direction came the day after the State Human Rights Commission recorded a case in connection with the incident where Chirayankeezhu Arun Dev (28) was attacked by security staff recently.
Dev, who had treated his grandmother admitted in the hospital, was rejected entered the neighborhood despite an entry.
When questionable, security staff were harassed verbally and dragged him behind the guard room and was attacked, which was clearly seen in the video shot by the public.
The minister said the staff concerned was suspended by the security agency who supplied personnel for hospitals.

The police have registered a case against them too.
The minister also directs the hospital authority to seek an explanation of the agent and ask to end the contract if needed,” said the Minister’s office in the release .
The Ministry of Health said security staff did not function under medical college security officers.
“Furthermore, all security officers will report to medical college security officers and their daily activities will be decided and monitored by officers,” the department said in the release.
The Ministry of Health has also issued directions to provide training to security officers.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Justice Human Rights Victory Antony Dominic directed director of medical education and the city police commissioner to investigate this problem and submit a report within three weeks.
The commission registered the case after the visual attack became a virus.
The commission, in the release, said the incident occurred on the day at the gate entering the environmental number 17.18 and 19.
The Commission noted that this was a second similar event this week.
